$55 is OK, but how much shipping to Europe (Germany) will be?
BTW: If I get it right I can only use your device or the original Sony BT RC, right? I cannot use both?
Thanks

I don't have an exact price to Germany but we'll offer shipping via the US Post Office or via UPS. The IR2BT plus packaging is well under 1 pound. Shipping prices will appear in the shopping cart and you'll be able choose which one you prefer.
You are correct, the PS3 can only pair with one BlueTooth remote control at a time so you would either have to pair it with the IR2BT *or* with the Sony BT RC.

 Re: Some Basic Questions
Bruce Mitchell wrote:2. Will I need to program macros into my Harmony to achieve some functions?
I personally use Harmony 670s in my house and I only had to make one modification of the Power Off command. Adding the device "Sony Playstation2" by default creates a Power On code of a single "PowerToggle" (PS) command, and a Power Off code of holding down the "PowerToggle" (PS) button for 3 seconds. I simply appended two additional "X" commands to the Power Off code and the PS3 powers down all by itself when I turn everything off.
Hi Bruce,
AFAIK one can only add sequences (like Power Off -> X -> X) within Activities not at devices at Ligitech/Harmany RC.
So how do you program the mentioned sequence into your PS2 device?
Thx in advance

Well, I believe you might be correct in that you can only add button sequences within Activies in Logitech's software, but at the device-level you CAN modify the Power On/Off sequences and add additional commands to them.
What I personally do for my Harmony 670 remote setup is I modify the Device's Power settings. So in Logitech's software it would be: "Devices", "Game Console (with DVD)", "Settings", "Adjust Power Settings", (I personally turn it off when not in use), "A button on the remote for On, and a different button for Off", "I don't have the original remote, but I know the command that is used: PowerToggle", "I don't have the original remote, but I know the commands that are used: PowerToggle for 3000 ms", and then the first time you'll have to add "My device needs more than one command to turn it on and off." which will add two more commands to the power off sequence which I set to "X" and "X". So the Power Off sequence will be "Power Toggle for 3000 ms", "X", and "X". When I hit "Off" on the 670 it turns everything off including the PS3. Yes folks, you must be at the XMB for that power-off sequence to work. That sequence will not shut off the PS3 if you are in a movie or game. Sorry, there's nothing we can do about Sony's choice of menu options.

First of all the sequence should work in movie mode as well.
Second - Try this sequence for the power off "Power Toggle" (Tap only), "Down", "Down", "Power Toggle" (3 Sec)", "X", "X"
This should allow for XBM, Movie & PS3 Game shutdown all in one with no conflict. Give it a try. I tried it with the controler and it seems to work but I don't have a remote to test. I know it looks weird but I really think it should work.
Worth a try.
Looking forward to trying the ir2bt out soon

Thanks! Yes, in the quick tests I just did that is a valid Power Off sequence at the XMB, in game and in movie. I was using a URC MX-500 in DVD mode set to Sony DVD code 033. I tried modifying the PowerOff sequence in the Logitech software for my 670 but unfortunately I couldn't see a way to move the 3000ms PowerToggle button down from its top/first position. And if I add another PowerToggle it will only add it as a quick button push, not a 3000ms duration one. Any suggestions from experts with the Logitech application would be appreciated.

Ok I just tried this is the Logitech Software and it can't be done with it's software. But a quick call to logitech support one should be able to get this modified very easy. Tell them what you have done and what you need changed to get it to work.
They have always been able to fix my problems when it comes to weird problems like this.

Thanks a lot Bruce!
But I cannot find the command saying "PowerToggle for 3000ms" (using software version 7.4.3 with Harmony One). I have only "PowerToggle" available!
Any ideas?

Sorry, I probably should have been more clear. There isn't a button called "PowerToggle for 3000ms", but when you modify the device's power settings, the power off sequence should default to "PowerToggle" and to the right of it should be "Duration in milliseconds:" and is set to "3000". Now, I believe Logitech just recently updated this setting so if you added you device a while ago you might have to re-add it (assuming you're comfortable using the Logitech software). The exact device I use is Sony "PlayStation 2" (spelled exactly like that).
Hope that helps.

Did you contect harmony support to see if they can move that 3000ms down to the power toggle second option?

Yes, I contacted Harmony and after 30 minutes trying to describe the issue to Level1 support in India I was eventually transferred to Level2 support in the US. The very helpful Level2 tech was able to modify the power off sequence, but unfortunately only for the one particular login that I gave them. I don't know how she did it but when I log into that account the fourth command contains the 3000ms duration, the others don't. So while that's good for me, it doesn't do anything for everybody else unless they call in and ask that it be changed on their account.
BUT, the good news is that I also talked to that tech about adding the IR2BT to the Logitech/Harmony database. It should be added in about a week (I'll send out more info when I get it) and the default power-off sequence should be the six-action sequence. Also, the four color buttons should be correctly mapped and labeled. Their database people still need to get back with me to confirm everything but I just thought I'd let you know that it should be a new device option by the time the IR2BT starts shipping.

Ya I should have told you that Level1 support is useless. Level2 is very helpful and know what they are doing. Could have saved you 30 min there.

That sequence is the nuts! I can't believe we never thought of that before. This changes everything for me (if Logitech will allow me to do it using my Harmony One).
I'm in the UK, and I'll order as soon as it's available.
